In the spirit of thinking of others and giving back to the community, Mrs. Smith's honors British Literature classes created holiday greeting cards to send to residents who reside at Victory Centre of Sierra Ridge in Country Club Hills. As students concluded a brief thematic lesson on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” Smith incorporated lessons on the importance of community service and its role in fostering positive social change and individual development within self.
This project allowed students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world situations. It also reinforced the importance of civic responsibility and engagement. The outcome for this activity was to aid the students' sense of purpose and promote empathy within the area in which they live.
Our AP Human Geography students are ready to tackle the semester, and unite together to start off strong. This outstanding group of students is led by Mr. Schodrof, who constantly shows his dedication and support to this hard working group. Let's have a great semester Hawks!

Students in Honors American History participated in a World War I simulation, each group represented a different country, strategized utilizing different foreign policies, held Ambassador meetings, & crafted press releases. Students learned about U.S. involvement in the war, the role alliances play, and the impact of foreign policies during global conflicts. #hillcresthawkpride

Members of the Hillcrest Drama Group, Speech Team, and Art Society enjoyed a pre-Broadway performance of The Wiz at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. This was the first professional theatre experience for several students. #hillcresthawkpride

On Friday, December 1st, a group of art students from all four district schools participated in the A.P. Art and Design Fall Symposium at Bremen High School. Upon arrival, students were able to display their artwork and receive written and verbal feedback from their district peers. This opportunity provided students with feedback they may choose to implement in their work through a fun, district-wide experience!
