About Us

Tinley Park High School (TPHS) is located in Tinley Park, Illinois, approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago and is one of four high schools comprising Bremen High School District 228. The 1,200 students at TPHS come from sections of the villages of Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Markham, and Country Club Hills, Illinois.

It takes a community and a solid, well-maintained, physical plant to operate a school, but the real secret of the success of TPHS rests with the people who make it "the school that works." Over the years, it has been the students, staff, parents and community who have brought bold, new life to TPHS. These groups have proven that the school motto "See the Difference Pride Makes" is at the heart of the school legacy.

Parent interest in the TPHS experience is at an all-time high, and school parents are as actively involved in school improvement measures as they are with activity sponsorship and support. The union of student, parent, and faculty interest spawns community support as well. This fact serves to enrich the school programs, projects, and public relations efforts.

The district leadership team, led by an enthusiastic superintendent, is competent and innovative as well as encouraging and supportive of TPHS projects, goals, and objectives. The school leadership team constantly provides "cheerleader" support to the total school program as it realizes that students, faculty, parental and community pride, and effort are gifts to be celebrated and never taken for granted. The school success is earned by listening and encouraging rather than by dictating and directing.

TPHS is a school that works. Each and every day, the school community strives to live up to the name the most recent NCA evaluation gave TPHS, "The best-kept secret in the south suburbs."
